Dismissed – Felony Carrying a Firearm without a License

January, 2018

Outcome: Dismissed

Description: After a shooting outside, the police came into a house and found my client and a few other people in a room. The police found a bullet on the bed. They then searched the room and found two firearms. They charged my client with being in possession of the firearms and ammunition. Client was facing a mandatory minimum 3-year jail sentence on a felony. I filed a motion to dismiss all charges for lack of probable cause to charge based on case law. After hearing, the motion was allowed and all of client’s charges were dismissed.
