No Complaint Issued at Clerk Magistrate’s Hearing for Operating on a Suspended License and Speeding

February, 2021

Our client received notice for a Clerk Magistrate’s Hearing in Massachusetts where they were alleged to have committed the offenses of Operating on a Suspended License and Speeding.

Operating on a Suspended License is a misdemeanor offense in Massachusetts that has a potential of jail time and having your license suspended if convicted. Speeding is a civil motor vehicle traffic violation.

We made an argument about our client’s circumstances and what happened on the day. As a result, the Clerk Magistrate did not issue the criminal complaint as to the Operating on a Suspended License and found our client Not Responsible for Speeding.
