Description: Police observed a car they knew to be stolen. Client went into the car and started it. She started backing up the car and the police stopped her. The police charged her with being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle, a felony. I filed a motion to dismiss her charges based on case law and, after hearing, the motion was granted. The case was dismissed, and my client avoided having a felony on her record.
