Dismissed – Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine in Rhode Island

March, 2020

Our client came to us charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine in Rhode Island on an old warrant. This is considered a felony drug case in Rhode Island and can lead to jail time, including potentially being held without bail. Our client did not live in the state. We arranged for our client to turn himself in on the old warrant. Before doing so we did our own investigation into the charges.

We were able to get access to the police reports from the city he was charged in and court documents. After doing our own investigation into the charges, we reached out to the prosecutor.

Our discussions with the prosecutor lead them to dismiss the case in its entirety. As a result, our client was able to remove the warrant and get their case dismissed in the same day.
