Shoplifting Rhode Island – Dismissed and Sealed

November, 2021

Our client was charged with Shoplifting in Rhode Island, which is a misdemeanor criminal offense. Shoplifting charges can result in potential jail time, a fine, probation and/or a potential criminal record.

We did our own investigation into the charges. We brought information to the prosecution that showed our client did not have the intent to steal any products from the store.

As a result of our conversations with the prosecution, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the charges. We filed a Motion to Seal our client’s record, which was allowed. Thus preventing them from having a criminal record from this incident.
