Leaving the Scene of an Accident Dismissed

March, 2023

Our client was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident in Rhode Island. Our client was charged criminally as a hit and run in Rhode Island. Rhode Island General Law 31-26-2, which states that “a driver of any vehicle knowingly involved in an accident resulting only in damage to a vehicle which is driven or attended by any person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”

We gathered the evidence in the case from the police and performed our own investigation. We did our own investigation, we found multiple inconsistencies with the evidence collected by the police. As a result, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the case before going to trial.
