Assault and Battery on Family/Household Member Dismissed in Massachusetts

Our client was charged with Assault and Battery on a Family/Household Member, which is a misdemeanor criminal offense in Massachusetts. This crime has potential penalties of batterer’s intervention classes, probation, a criminal conviction and/or jail.

We gathered all of the evidence on the case and did our own investigation into what happened. As a result, we decided to select a trial date where the prosecution would have to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.

On the day of trial, the prosecution was unable to meet their burden and the case was dismissed.
