Our client received a citation for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in Massachusetts, which is a criminal offense. In addition, they received a citation for Speeding, which is a civil traffic violation. As a result, we requested a Clerk Magistrate's Hearing to answer to both charges. At the Clerk Magistrate's Hearing, we presented documents about what happened and explained the circumstances. After hearing our arguments, the Clerk Magistrate did not issue the complaint and dismissed both charges. This allowed our client to keep a clean criminal record and clean driving record.
