License Suspension Reduced at RMV Board of Appeal
Our client received a 1 year license suspension in Massachusetts based on a DUI in Rhode Island. He believed that this was not right and wanted to be heard. We appealed this decision to the RMV Board of Appeals. We argued that he should not have his license suspended because the case in Rhode Island resulted in a license suspension. We argued that he had already served a punishment and his license shouldn't be suspended further.
The board found our argument compelling and agreed to reduce the penalty to a 45-day license suspension. This suspension was retroactive to the time he initially had his license suspended, meaning his license was no longer going to be suspended because 45 days had passed since the original order from the RMV suspended his license.
